Dynamical Phase Transitions and Spin Glasses

چکیده
By measuring the distance between two configurations subjected to the same thermal noise, one observes for spin glasses three phases: a high-temperature phase (T> T 1), where the distance between the two configurations vanishes in the long-time limit; an intermediate phase (1’~< T < T,), where this distance has a nonzero limit independent of the initial distance; a low-temperature phase (T< ~‘2), where the distance depends on the initial distance. For the 3d and 4d ±I spin glasses, the results of Monte Carlo simulations give clear evidence for the existence of these three phases. For the Sherrington—Kirkpatrick model, T1 is infinite whereas T~is close to the equilibrium transition temperature. For the 2d ±Jspin glass, the behavior at high and low temperature is similar to that of the 3d and 4d models but there is much less evidence for the presence of the intermediate phase and for well-defined transition temperatures between these phases.

Metastable states and space-time phase transitions in a spin-glass model.
We study large deviations of the dynamical activity in the random orthogonal model. This is a fully connected spin-glass model with one-step replica symmetry-breaking behavior, consistent with the random first-order transition scenario for structural glasses. We show that this model displays dynamical (space-time) phase transitions between active and inactive phases, as demonstrated by singular...
متن کاملOverlap and activity glass transitions in plaquette spin models with hierarchical dynamics.
We consider thermodynamic and dynamic phase transitions in plaquette spin models of glasses. The thermodynamic transitions involve coupled (annealed) replicas of the model. We map these coupled-replica systems to a single replica in a magnetic field, which allows us to analyze the resulting phase transitions in detail. For the triangular plaquette model (TPM), we find for the coupled-replica sy...
متن کاملSpectral signatures of hierarchical relaxation
The concept of phase transition is most precise in the context of equilibrium statistical mechanics in the thermodynamic limit. Unfortunately many systems of interest are excluded by the narrowness of this definition. In this paper we continue our master equation approach [1,2] to this problem and extend that method to structures having strong resemblance to those believed to exist in spin glas...
متن کاملMagnetic Properties and Phase Transitions in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Simple Cubic Lattice
Within the effective-field theory with correlations (EFT), a transverse random field spin-1 Ising model on the simple cubic (z=6) lattice is studied. The phase diagrams, the behavior of critical points, transverse magnetization, internal energy, magnetic specific heat are obtained numerically and discussed for different values of p the concentration of the random transverse field.
متن کاملDynamical phase transitions in glasses induced by the ruggedness of the free energy landscape
We propose damage spreading (DS) as a tool to investigate the topological features related to the ruggedness of the free energy landscape. We argue that DS measures the positiveness of the largest Lyapunov exponent associated to the basins of attraction visited by the system during its dynamical evolution. We discuss recent results obtained in the framework of mode-coupling theory and comment h...
